Motherhood, being Emma’s mom, is like a long and lovely paper-chain of miracles, with new links carefully crafted every day, using lots and lots of tape.
Every day is mother’s day, of course, but on this official day in the USA, I send love and deep gratitude to my mom, and to all the great moms in my life, including the ones who have no children of their own, but who nourish, nurture, and mother the rest of us.
This is your day. May it be filled with smiles, with promise, and with beauty.
In beauty, may you walk, lively, through the returning seasons, on the trail marked with pollen, with grasshoppers at your feet, with dew about your feet, with beauty before you, with beauty behind you, with beauty above you, and with beauty all around you. ~ adapted from the Navajo Beauty Way Ceremony
These are some of the many beautiful links in my paper-chain….
Have a happy, healthy, and beautiful Mother’s Day, everyone! ~ Laura
Happy Mother’s Day to you, too! What a beautifully fitting tribute to the tapey miracle-chain of a Mother’s life! Emma is a lucky girl and I feel lucky to share your Mother and to call you sister! Enjoy the day!
Happy Mother’s Day, Jan. You are one of the best moms I know, and a beautiful sister, too! <3 Laura
